Quick Wins
Doesn’t January feel like it lasted forever however payday is finally in sight and so far so good with the No spend year. who is the person? Deleting Amazon Prime , swapping Netflix for Now TV saving £5 a month (to be honest I think we are done with Netflix for a while anyway.) I did forget to cancel my Spotify subscription but that is taken care of – annoyingly I had to fork out the £11.99 this month. A good start to the no buy year.

Daily Tracking
I track my No spend daily utilising an A4 sheet on the fridge where everyone can see. I have achieved 19/26 No spend days this month. Essential spending including medicine, food and Nicorette. Non essential spending consisted of A meal out with my husband: I used my bank rewards for this so was technically free and did not break my no spend month.
I did break it with a meal out spending £33 on food and soft drinks unplanned and unbudgeted. A girl i work closely with left and I did plan to eat before I went but that didn’t materialise.
The Debt payoff

My commitment to no spend days meant I could make an overpayment of £800 towards Credit card 1. This is in addition to the £780 minimum payments on other debts. My new debt total thanks to no spend days is….drumroll £36,639 which is a lot less than £37,818 at the start of the year. I am super happy and motivated to keep going.
